When pregnant, you will experience many physical changes to your body. While it is certainly true that women’s bodies are made to adapt to these changes, knowing what to expect can make the difference between feeling helpless or getting a sense of control.

Some of the changes will include weight gain, stretch marks, or possibly increased acne. These are normal changes, and may be looked at in a positive way.

It does not mean you will definitely experience all these changes, You may experience a big weight gain or just gain enough weight that only from the growing baby inside you. Or, you may get a few pimples or have absolutely perfect skin. Every pregnancy is unique with each child, along the fact that it affects one woman differently to another. You body will make the necessary changes for whatever your particular child needs to grow.

During your day to day life, you will learn more about how these changes will affect you as your pregnancy continues. Whether it is the nausea, occasional acne, stretch marks, or stress, there are several ways to make it more comfortable and livable for you.

Nausea

Most women feel nauseous during their first and second trimester. Typically, morning or nightime are the times in the day when it occurs. While this is normal, there are ways to help control feelings of nauseousness and vomiting by changing what you eat and how often you eat. Also, simply by relaxing the body through breathing and sleeping or napping can ease the strain on your system, besides making you feel better.

Acne

Women may notice that when they are pregnant that there may be increased acne on their face and their body. This acne is a result of chemical changes in the body and should not last after the pregnancy is over.

There a just a few easy things to do to help prevent and heal the acne. You will need to wash your face often, avoid certain foods, and drink more water during the day in order to keep it under control.

Many experienced mothers might tell you that drinking more than 8 glasses of water, or 64 ounces, helps to clean out the impurities within your blood that aid in causing acne. Also, avoiding foods that are greasy or extremely sweet, since these tend to produce the bacteria that acne loves.

Stretch marks

As women gain weight, they may notice lines forming on their abdomen, thighs, hips, buttocks, or arms. This is normal when pregnant and not to be feared. Certainly, physical changes can affect pregnant women emotionally but, it does not have to. There are numerous products especially made, to diminish and fade any stretch marks caused by pregnancy.

By understanding that these physical changes are necessary, you will have the means to be able to cope with your stress and concerns. Fear and worry can be lessoned if you know what is normal and to expect at each stage of your pregnancy. Then, you can relax and focus on the 9 month miracle, growing inside you.

Women have a lot of different feelings during this period of
time, perhaps too much. It’s common to see women with changes in their
sleeping pattern, with fatigue, loss of energy etc.

So, what can
we do to feel better? Since we don’t have enough energy to be outside
to much time, to travel, to wait, etc. Well, now, thanks to the new
technologies, new services are appearing every day through the net. Now
the people use to think that the net is a secure place where to use our
credits cards. So, perhaps you are wondering of witch service I am
talking about. Did you ever hear something about e-therapy?. This kind
of professional assistance is meant to solve this, and a lot more, kind
of problems. It can give you another perspective, another point of
view, of this situation.

This kind of service could be very helpful for you since your mobility
is going to get reduced more and more. Another advantage is that you
could still have therapy after your childbirth. Before you rush into
the online counseling you should take some time to analyze witch kind
of service switch better for you. It’s important to investigate the
different sites since they have different services to offer, like
email, chat and video conference therapy. Online counseling could
certainly refresh and energise you, as I told you before, you will not
have many opportunities to move from a place to another and also to be
with to much people. So, professional assistant can make a difference.
Some pregnant women might feel that online therapy is not for them, but
what I recommend you is to take a look through the web and find out a
big variety of online services

Undoubtedly as an expectant mother you’ve had no shortage on advice of things you should do to prepare for the arrival of your bundle of joy. You’re family, friends, and medical providers have given you a list of things that you should accomplish prior to going to the hospital. As a new mother myself I have found one area that nobody mentioned….what you will need for yourself after you get home. Here is a list of helpful things to do for yourself to help you survive your first few weeks as a new mom.

Have your fridge and freezer stocked with easy to prepare foods. Once the baby is here you’ll find that tasks previously easy for you have a new set of challenges. Cooking is one of those. Better yet, if a friend asks if there is anything you need or that they can do for your…have them bring a home cooked meal.

Don’t forget that your monthly friend (your period) will be returning with a vengeance after the baby arrives. Have all the necessary supplies you will need. Nothing is worse than having to make a Wal-Mart stop on your way home from the hospital.

Even though you are longing for your figure and the return of your normal wardrobe to return, it will take a while. Having a few things that are non-maternity but a size bigger than your pregnancy clothes will help you to feel more comfortable while you are transitioning.

If you have a husband or partner who will be helping you when you come home have a sleeping plan. My husband and I learned after 2 days of trying to alternate the nighttime feedings and feeling very sleep deprived that there were better ways of scheduling. We opted for longer shifts of sleep with one of us covering the nighttime hours so the other could sleep. We felt much better!

Arrange to have a few close friends or family members help you out for the first week. A few hours of time babysitting or an offer to run errands for you is the best gift anyone could give during the first few weeks.

If you are a busy body have some things around to entertain yourself. All the books tell you to sleep while the baby is sleeping but this is sometimes easier said than done. Indulging in a hobby such as reading, scrap booking, or even a good movie will allow you to relax and keep you from feeling overwhelmed.

Practice saying NO. A baby brings a lot excitement to family and friends. It is sometimes hard for them to remember that you are recovering and adjusting to your new role. As with anything, practice makes perfect. Practice your “no speech” before having to use it. Make sure express your appreciation for the fact that they care enough to…come visit, invite you out, volunteer to keep the baby, etc. but let them know that you are still adjusting to everything and need to say no.

Have an assortment of over the counter medications available for yourself. It is difficult to make a quick trip out with a newborn. It’s best to have the things you think you might need on hand.
